Disney+ and Hulu are firing on all cylinders this month. The mouse network’s core audience will no doubt love the fourth Descendants movie, while Hulu’s grown-ups get a new season of King of the Hill and a compelling boxing drama with a great cast. Descendants: Wicked Wonderland (July 17, Disney+)
Return once more to the absurdly popular Descendants series, which you may not have ever heard of if you don’t have a preteen in your life. The premise is that the children of iconic Disney movie characters all live in the same world, with the spawn of villains having to make their own way in spite of their families’ misdeeds. This is the fourth installment, with Red (daughter of the Queen of Hearts) and Chloe Charming (daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming) coming to terms with the consequences of meddling with the timeline in the last movie.

They Fight (July 17, Hulu)
Based on a 2018 documentary of the same name, They Fight tells the story of Walt Manigan, an ex-con seeking to get his life on track and prove to his ex that he can be a good parent to their son. Manigan forms a relationship with a local gym owner and helps him train a group of young fighters as they make a longshot bid for a national championship.

King of the Hill: Season 15 (July 20, Hulu)
We’ve seen a lot of classic TV shows returning in recent years, with mixed results. I’m happy to report that the King of the Hill revival has absolutely pulled it off. Jumping forward just a few years from when the original show ended, Hank and Peggy return to Texas after a time in Saudi Arabia. What made the show great in the first place is still there: clever, understated writing, great performances, and a real sense of humanity that few animated shows have ever been able to pull off.
