Playing tracks in between making tracks
You might know T-Pain for his skills as a rapper and a singer, but did you know he’s also a voracious gamer? Earlier today T-Pain partnered with Nintendo for a Rhythm Heaven Groove video, and it turns out his enthusiasm wasn’t just for show. In a new video he elaborates on just what a big Nintendo fan he really is.
In this IGN interview, T-Pain first tells the story of how he got hooked on his brother’s N64 as a kid. Then he goes on to reveal his favorite Nintendo <a href="https://comicvibe.com/paramount-games-unveiled-san-diego-comic/” title=”Paramount Games Unveiled San Diego Comic”>games of all time. As it turns out, his answer is the Mario Kart series as a whole, with some particular love given to Mario Kart 64.
“I think the Mario Kart series is… I think that’s the one that sticks with me the most, because you can be competitive without it getting, you know, crazy. It’s not like a card game or something. Mario Kart is the one that stands the test of time with me. There’s no version of that that I’m like ‘eh, maybe not that one’. It’s always been like… yes, this is great.”
T-Pain’s love of Mario Kart runs so deep that playing a game with him was even a part of his VIP tour package at concerts. That’s true fandom right there.
T-Pain also names his all time favorite Nintendo soundtracks (Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario Odyssey), which game he’d want to do music for, and more. Check it all out in the video above.
