What happens when a galaxy far, far away collides with the Marvel multiverse? LEGO is giving fans the chance to build their own answer.
For the first time ever, fans can build with both franchises and participate in the LEGO Ideas challenge! Participants can pick from three challenge themes from mashing up Star Wars and Marvel vehicles, characters or scenes.
As the multiverse is complex it is important for fans to review the rules and guidelines. Lego enthusiasts can submit now, with voting beginning on December 8, grand prize selections will be announced in 2027.
“We know our fans never stop imagining new ways to bring their favourite worlds together, and we’re excited to see the originality, passion and innovation they bring to this unique crossover,” exclaims LEGO’s senior vice-president, Fede Begher.
The building challenge arrives ahead of Star Wars x Marvel: Hope Assembles, a new comic book series launching in January. Fans have more opportunities to explore the possibilities of a shared universe. The collaboration brings the two iconic franchises together in another format, written by Kevin Smith and illustrated by David Marquez.
During the announcement at New York Comic Con, Smith was excited to give fans what they’ve been longing for. Consisting of six comic books, the special edition series will collide Marvel’s prime universe (Earth-616) with Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
The timing of the crossover is particularly fitting, as 2027 marks the 50th anniversary of the Star Wars franchise. Since its debut in 1977, the galaxy-spanning saga has grown into a global phenomenon, inspiring generations of fans through films, television, books, games and collectibles.
Now, LEGO is inviting fans to celebrate that legacy by putting their creativity to the test. With submissions underway and voting just around the corner, fans have the opportunity to help bring an imaginative crossover to life, one LEGO brick at a time.
