On 25 July, the Museum of Ethnography invites manga and anime fans, as well as anyone interested in Japanese culture, to spend a day exploring Japan’s rich visual heritage. The programme includes curator-led tours, ukiyo-e woodblock printing and calligraphy workshops, yukata try-ons, talks on Japanese pop culture, kamishibai paper theatre performances, video games and a Japanese taiko drum concert. Bringing together both traditional and contemporary elements of Japanese visual culture, the event offers a unique opportunity to discover the many faces of Japan in a single day.
