Mattel’s display at San Diego Comic-Con was one of the most visited and photographed exhibits of the four-day event. Booth 3029 did not disappoint, with onlookers and casual fans packing the booth like sardines on preview night, scrambling to snap up snaps of its latest toy.
Mattel Creations launches 12 new collectibles for the 2024 show, including two convention exclusives, including Barbie’s Mini Mojo Dojo Casa House for its Preview Night debut Attention.
“This is Barbie’s first time attending Comic-Con,” noted matt blutocau, Vice President of Global Brand Marketing for Mattel Barbie. “In the past, we’ve had Barbie with Wonder Woman or Barbie with another character. But it’s all about Barbie, because of course Barbie The movie came out a year ago.
Following the success of Barbie on the big screen, Barbie Miniland was recently launched. Exclusive to SDCC ’24, the Mini Mojo Dojo Casa House is a miniature replica of Barbie’s dream house that Ken transformed into a man cave after learning about patriarchy in the real world. Toy set includes a denim mini Ken figure, as well as Ken’s movie guitar, binoculars, refrigerator and baseball glove chair. The playset retails for $50.
Mattel representatives were mum on inventory levels during the SDCC weekend, but as of the end of preview night, the Mini Mojo Dojo Casa House was still available. Lottery holders will receive first dibs each day, and any remaining inventory will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Another SDCC ’24 exclusive item sold by Mattel is jurassic world Jimmy Buffett The character was inspired by Buffett’s cameo in the 2015 film and his connection to Margaritaville. Jurassic World Jimmy Buffett retails for $30. As with the Mini Mojo Dojo Casa House, lottery holders get first dibs.
Other collectibles on display at the Mattel booth include the die-cast Hot Wheels® Batmobile set, which includes six mini-vehicles representing each of the six cars batman Series, animation and the big screen; Hot Wheels® Star Wars Royal Naboo Starship from The Phantom Menaceand Hot Wheels® RacerVerse Marvel secret wars Die-cast Wolverine and Spider-Man figures recall the original Issue 1 cover.
