The NASCAR O’Reilly Series heads to EchoPark Speedway for Saturday night’s Focused Health 250, bringing with it a tightly packed championship battle and plenty of momentum shifts after an eventful race at Chicagoland Speedway
Brandon Jones arrives in Hampton riding high after securing his first victory of the season. Jones survived a dramatic overtime finish at Chicagoland, holding off Chase Elliott to earn the eighth Xfinity Series win of his career and strengthen his position inside the top 10 in points. His victory also added another name to a growing list of 2026 race winners
Chicagoland showcased the parity that has defined much of the season. Six drivers led laps and the race featured 16 lead changes, with Elliott, Taylor Gray and Connor Zilisch all spending significant time at the front before Jones prevailed in the closing laps. Jesse Love continued his strong campaign with a third-place finish and remains Justin Allgaier’s closest challenger in the championship standings
Allgaier continues to lead the series with a commanding points advantage and a series-best five victories. Love, Corey Day, Sheldon Creed and Austin Hill complete the current top five, while Jones, Carson Kvapil and Sammy Smith remain firmly in the playoff mix
EchoPark Speedway has produced memorable finishes in recent years. Last season, Nick Sanchez used a late restart to grab the lead and edged Kvapil by just 0.139 seconds for his first career Xfinity Series victory, underscoring the unpredictable nature of drafting-style racing on the high-speed oval
With the postseason drawing closer, every stage point and finishing position is becoming increasingly important. Saturday’s 163-lap, 251-mile race could play a significant role in shaping both the playoff field and the championship picture heading into the next stop at Indianapolis
