Riteish Deshmukhrecently shared an incident that unexpectedly turned into an act of kindness from a paparazzi, revealing how a photographer pitched in to help him when he did not have cash on hand. The actor opened up about his interactions with the paparazzi and the common notion that celebrities often pay photographers to get clicked. In his case, however, the situation was quite the reverse.

Riteish Deshmukh reveals paparazzo lent him money when he wasn’t carrying any cash

In a conversation with THE SCREEN, Riteish recalled stepping out of a restaurant in Mumbai when he spotted a young boy selling something for Rs 100. Since he wasn’t carrying any cash, the actor asked the child if he accepted online payments. When the boy said he did not have a QR code, a paparazzo who was clicking photos of Riteish offered him help.

He said, “We were walking out, and there was a child who was selling something for ₹100. You have become so cashless today… I wasn’t carrying money. Now, I don’t carry money because everything is digital. And it was so nice of one paparazzo, whose name I didn’t know, but now I know; his name is Sushil Mohite, if I’m not wrong, but if I’m wrong, then I’m very sorry. He said, ‘Main deta hoon’ (I will give).”

Riteish Deshmukh says how he looked out for pap

Riteish revealed that he did not know the photographer and wanted to pay back his money. The actor eventually shared the incident on his Instagram stories to help locate the paparazzo. He got in touch with him and made sure the money was returned.

“It was the kindness that the pap showed when he wanted to pay for me. It’s always chaotic, getting in and out on the road, and the paps are doing their job. We always think that they are probably wanting our pictures and they are in need. But we don’t realise that there are moments when they step up to help you,” the Raja Shivajiactor said.

While there are constant talks of stars paying photographersto get clicked, the actor found himself on the other side, witnessing their kindness and generosity. With his signature humour, Riteish concluded, “People always say that you pay paps. But I am the only one who has got money from paparazzi.”
