Places Leisure Eastleigh is preparing to welcome fans, collectors and families as three distinct pop culture events take over the sports venue this weekend!
The ambitious triple billing unites Southampton’s – ‘Brick Festival’ (Oct 31st), ‘Card Market’ (Oct 31st) and ‘Comic Con’ (Nov 1st) – all under one roof.
Rather than running as isolated dates, the coordinated weekend brings everything together into one exciting destination for fans of film, television, retro gaming, construction bricks and collectible trading cards, with individual event ticket prices making it easy to enjoy one, two or all three events.
Southampton Brick Festival
Southampton Brick Festival promises a packed day of building, creativity and brick-filled fun for fans of all ages. Bringing together families, collectors, adult builders and LEGO enthusiasts, visitors can get hands-on with speed-building competitions, creative challenges and dedicated building areas where children and grown-ups can put their skills and imagination to the test.
Visitors can also explore impressive displays created by talented LEGO builders, featuring large-scale builds and imaginative creations. With plenty of detail to discover, the displays offer inspiration for experienced builders and newcomers alike.
Collectors and LEGO fans can browse a wide range of traders offering loose bricks, minifigures, accessories, brand-new sets and retired or hard-to-find LEGO. Whether you’re hunting for a missing piece, adding to your collection or simply enjoying a creative family day out, Southampton Brick Festival offers plenty to see, build, shop and discover.
Southampton Card Market
Another major part of the weekend is the Card Market, bringing together collectors, traders and fans of trading card games, sports memorabilia and pop culture collectables.
Visitors can buy, sell and swap everything from rare single cards and sealed booster boxes to graded collector cards, autographs, original artwork, film and TV memorabilia and other collectables.
The expansive vendor hall will feature a diverse mix of traders, merchandise and displays covering different areas of trading card fandom and collecting. Whether you’re a seasoned collector searching for a rare addition, a hobbyist looking to trade, or completely new to the world of collecting, the Card Market offers plenty to browse, discover and enjoy.
Southampton Comic Con
Southampton Comic Con anchors the schedule with a broad celebration of sci-fi, cinema, comics, anime and popular entertainment designed to appeal equally to dedicated aficionados and curious newcomers.
Visitors to the main hall will find guest talks and question-and-answer sessions alongside photo shoots with stars from notable television and film franchises.
Elaborate prop installations and life-sized vehicle recreations provide striking backdrops throughout the arena, giving film buffs an up-close look at recognisable cinematic relics.
Cosplay forms a vibrant centrepiece of the convention, featuring community parades, costume competitions and appearances by dedicated costuming groups in screen-accurate outfits.
This year’s celebrity line-up includes Chris Barrie, best known as the legendary Arnold Rimmer in Red Dwarf and Gordon Brittas in The Brittas Empire. Joining him will be Ben Whitehead, the voice of Wallace from Wallace & Gromit, alongside Steph de Whalley from Doctor Who and Robert Emms from Star Wars: Andor.
Guest appearances subject to work commitments.
