Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi’s first original art exhibition has revealed new details, including its key visual, exhibition highlights, ticket information, visitor bonuses, and exclusive merchandise.

The exhibition, titled “Kazuki Takahashi Original Art Exhibition YU-GI-OH! ART WORKS,” commemorates the 30th anniversary of the start of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series.
It will be the first original art exhibition dedicated to Takahashi, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh!, and will run from December 12, 2026, through February 21, 2027, at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO in Kyobashi, Tokyo.
More Than 370 Original Manga Pages Across Five Chapters
The venue will bring together more than 370 original hand drawn manga pages, along with color illustrations created during and after the series’ serialization, artwork and reference materials, and rough sketches documenting Takahashi’s creative process, including previously unreleased works.
The exhibition will present Takahashi’s creations and the passion behind them alongside the story of Yu-Gi-Oh! across five sections called “CHAPTERS.”
“CHARACTER DESIGNER” will revisit major characters through original artwork from memorable scenes, while “GAME CREATOR” will introduce the various games depicted in self contained stories.
“MONSTER DESIGNER” will focus on original artwork and monsters from the Duelist Kingdom arc and Battle City arc. The area will also feature a Millennium Puzzle photo spot representing the power of friendship and unity.
The exhibition will also include “STORYTELLER,” featuring original artwork from the Pharaoh’s Memories arc, as well as illustrations created for the official card game.
Creative materials from the film Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions will also be displayed. Takahashi served as the original creator, screenwriter, character designer, and executive producer on the movie.
Exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! Exhibition Merchandise Revealed
Part of the exhibition’s exclusive merchandise lineup has also been announced.
Items include Acrylic MEGA Figures featuring characters and monsters such as Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba, as well as Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl.
Other products include 45 varieties of Art Coasters, Relief Plates featuring Dark Magician and Blue Eyes White Dragon, and a Lost King’s Memory Stone Tablet Cushion.
Visitors will receive one randomly selected “It’s My Turn!! Double Sticker” from seven designs. The bonus uses a two layer design, with a different image appearing when the first sticker is peeled away.
A limited quantity admission ticket with merchandise will include a “Proof of the Duel King,” featuring the three Egyptian God Cards with elaborate finishes based on their original designs in the manga.
The “Proof of the Duel King” will also be made available for made to order sales after the exhibition ends.
General admission tickets are priced at 2,200 yen, tickets for middle and high school students at 1,400 yen, elementary school students at 900 yen, and admission tickets with the bonus merchandise at 3,900 yen.
For admission between December 12 and December 31, applications for the ticket lottery will open through eplus at 10 a.m. on September 14.
Kazuki Takahashi and the Global Success of Yu-Gi-Oh!
Takahashi made his serialization debut in 1986. His best known work, Yu-Gi-Oh!, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from September 1996 through March 2004.
The fictional card game “Magic & Wizards” featured in the story attracted considerable attention, and the manga increasingly developed around the game. In 2000, the television anime adaptation Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters began airing.
“Magic & Wizards” was also commercialized as Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game Duel Monsters.
After cumulative card sales surpassed 25.17 billion in 2011, it was recognized by Guinness World Records as the trading card game with the highest sales volume in the world, and the franchise has continued to enjoy worldwide popularity.
Following the conclusion of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, Takahashi remained involved with projects including Yu-Gi-Oh! R and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, which were serialized in V Jump.
Weekly Shonen Jump also published his one shot DRUMP in 2013.
In 2016, TRANSCEND GAME: Yu-Gi-Oh! was published in conjunction with the release of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions, for which Takahashi served as original creator, screenwriter, character designer, and executive producer.
His new short serialization THE COMIQ was published in 2018.
Takahashi died at the age of 60 in 2022 after becoming involved in an accident while attempting to rescue people.
