Woolworths is bringing back a new range of Ooshie collectibles from today, and the supermarket is anticipating it will be just as hectic as last time
It’s been six years since the tiny toys were last available, and it’s safe to say they caused pandemonium
Shoppers were selling the “rare” Ooshies on eBay for thousands of dollars, and parents raced around supermarkets trying to complete the set for their kids

A Woolworths spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestylethey are excited to bring them back
“We have worked hard to make sure Disney Ooshies are available in every store for customers to collect,” they said

“We do know how popular they have been in previous campaigns, so we encourage collectors to get in early so they don’t miss out.”
Yahoo Lifestyle understands that, based on the popularity of previous Ooshie campaigns, Woolworths has ordered enough stock to meet customer demand across all stores

But the toys will only be available while stocks last and the promotion will finish up on August 25

This time, there are 40 unique characters to collect from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, or Star Wars, and you can receive one when you spend $30 or more in a single transaction
They’ve previously only been available at supermarkets, but Woolies is expanding the promotion this year to include purchases made at Big W and
This year’s range has improved sustainability, as the Ooshies are crafted from 97 per cent recycled materials and backed by a nationwide in-store recycling program
Customers can also return any unused Ooshies from the new range to Woolworths stores for recycling until October 31

A special Collector Case will also be available at Woolworths, Big W and Metro stores for $10

What is the rarest Ooshie of all time?
The rarest Ooshies of all time were the ultra-rare Furry Simba from the 2019 Woolworths Lion King promotion, and the Furry Thor and Furry Baby Yoda (The Child) from the 2020 Disney+ collection
Only 100 of each were produced, making them legendary among collectors
One person who found the rare Yoda Ooshie listed it on eBay for $99,400
On the flip side, a farmer sparked widespread condemnation after he cut up his Furry Simba Ooshie on live television
Victorian farmers Melisa Portingale and Stephen Black initially wanted $5,000 for it to help provide water for their bone-dry land

“[We] decided to go down this path because we were really desperate for money to help the farm,” Melisa said
But the initiative saw them hit with abuse and even death threats
So, during an interview on the Today show, the farmers decided no one should have it and chopped it in half with scissors
