The 28th season of Big Brother premieres tonight, July 9, for another summer of expecting the unexpected
And it’s going to be bigger than ever, with unprecedented programming to watch the houseguests’ every move
Fourteen houseguests have already been announced but more surprises await with the arrival of at least three more, reportedly two from the “Survivor” franchise and another a “Big Brother” alum
The season, which has a Time Trip theme, will mark a milestone for the franchise as it’ll become the first primetime series to hit 1,000 original episodes

The houseguests will be isolated from the outside world and compete for $750,000 while being monitored by cameras 24/7

Big Brother episode 1
The first episode will see the introductory packages for the 14 announced houseguests getting their keys to the “Big Brother” house. Then, they’ll make their way into the house to begin the season
The surprise houseguests will also be revealed. They’re reportedly “Survivor” fan favorites Rick Devens and Dee Valladeras as well as “Big Brother” season 26 alum Angela Murray
And if past seasons are any indication, there likely will be a competition to get things started

“Big Brother” will air on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays
After the premiere, Thursday episodes will be 60 minutes. They’ll be live episodes and features the evictions
Sunday episodes will also be an hour long but, on July 12, the episode will be 90 minutes. Wednesday night episodes will always be 90 minutes
“Big Brother: Unlocked,” a weekly studio talk show on the set of the BB house, returns with hosts and former winners Taylor Hale (BB 24), Derrick Levasseur (BB 16), plus a new addition, actor and BB fan Jerry O’Connell
