On October 4th, the Unity tool “VRoid 2 VRC” went on sale. The developer is Alice Gotensei (Gaso). It’s a tool that automatically converts VRM models created with VRoid Studio into avatars for VRChat. It’s available for purchase as a download from BOOTH.
During conversion, the model is automatically adjusted to conform as closely as possible to the documentation The placement and settings of bones such as fingers, shoulders, hips, and spine are adjusted, which is said to reduce abnormal behavior in VR mode. Corrections are also made to the one-piece skirt to prevent it from behaving strangely when sitting
The VRM version is not a requirement. Any model created using VRoid Studio’s model editing function can be used, whether it’s VRM0, VRM1, or exported from the clothing change function. However, XAvatar is not supported. VRMs adjusted with external tools and VRMs not made with VRoid Studio are not generally guaranteed to work during the beta phase.
The setup process is also streamlined. There’s no need to import UniVRM, an extension for handling VRM models in Unity; the only assets you need are VRCSDK and lilToon. While Blender downloads occur during operation, users don’t need to do any prior preparation or setup.
It is currently available in beta version and is priced at 1000 yen. Once bug reports and fixes are completed and the official release is launched, the price will increase to 2000 yen. Free distribution data and licenses are also available separately, and the license terms differ between the free distribution and the paid product.
Please note that this tool alone cannot handle mobile devices. After conversion, you will need to use the free tool Yoridori Modifiers’ “YM Mesh Trimmer”.
We are releasing “VRoid 2 VRC” today at 3 PM! This tool allows you to turn character models created with VRoid Studio into avatars in the most optimized state ever for VRChat specifications!
With the same level of performance improvement as paid services, this tool can achieve the same level of behavioral improvement as conventional VRM to VRC avatar conversion tools, but at a lower cost.
The main features are as follows:
– Does not depend on the VRM version
This tool works with both VRM0.0 and VRM1.0.
This prevents you from getting lost in the preparation stage, as you’ll need to know which tool to use for VRM0.0 and which for VRM1.0.
– Sloping shoulders, full body tracking, skirt, automatic correction of hand signs
The conversion process automatically corrects any abnormal behavior that may occur when using VR mode or full-body tracking.
*For those using external tools, you can also select the “Do not modify” option for some items.
– No unnecessary data will accumulate.
There’s no need to install UniVRM into Unity. There’s also no need to pre-install MToon. Since you’re not importing VRM into Unity, you won’t unnecessarily clutter your Unity project with “data that isn’t actually used for VRChat avatars.”
Only two assets are required.
The only assets required to run this tool are VRCSDK and lilToon.
“I’m uploading a model to VRChat for the first time, and I have to install a lot of different tools…” We’ve tried to minimize the exhaustion caused by just the preparation process as much as possible.
– Equipped with a facial expression manual creation mode.
In manual expression editing mode, you can create and set your preferred expressions while viewing a preview.
Currently, it is released as a beta version. During the beta period, it will be sold for 1000 yen. Once it becomes the official version after bug reports and fixes from users are received, the price will increase to 2000 yen.
The sales page will be posted in the following replies. It is currently private, so please bookmark or “like” this post and wait a little longer.
