Writer and filmmaker Breyden Boyd is getting set to unleash his debut comic series The Carvers, and Bloody Disgusting has the exclusive scoop from BOOM! Studios this week.
Releasing in February of next year, this darkly humorous new horror series from writer Breyden Boyd and artist Nathan Wells promises a murderous thrill ride not to be missed.
In The Carvers, an orphaned teenager is taken under the wing of The Ideal Family, complete with a manicured lawn, a prestigious mansion—all the works.
But the puzzle pieces aren’t falling in the places that we expect, and there’s a different picture forming. In fact, it’s quite the family portrait, far from pristine and splattered with blood.
Breyden Boyd tells Bloody Disgusting, “I’ve been working onThe Carvers for the last few years. It’s the passion project I never gave up on and the subject of a lot of late-night-turned-early-morning writing sessions. Like any good slasher, it’s been waiting in the shadows for the right time to strike. That time is now. We couldn’t be more excited to let it loose upon the world.”

The Carvers #1 from BOOM! Studios is available for pre-order from your local comic shop until December 28, and it will hit shelves on February 10, 2027. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.
