How Nobody Wants This became one of Netflix’s breakout comedy hits
Created by Erin Foster, Nobody Wants This premiered on Netflix in September 2024. The series follows Joanne, an agnostic podcaster, and Noah, a rabbi, whose romance faces challenges due to their differing beliefs and family expectations. The second season, released in October 2025, explored the couple’s commitment and ended with Joanne deciding to convert to Judaism.
Joanne and Noah’s romance feels real because their differences affect everyday decisions, family relationships, and plans for the future. The story balances these challenges with funny moments and honest conversations about building a life together.
Netflix’sviewing figures highlight the show’s performance across its first two seasons. The first season reached the Top 10 in 89 countries, while the second season topped Netflix’s global English TV chart for two weeks after its release. Season 2 also recorded 22.4 million views in its first 18 days
Nobody Wants This Season 3 builds on that success by introducing new characters into Joanne’s life as she explores Judaism. Silverman’s Rabbi Eden guides her through the process, while Rannells plays Sebastien, a fellow student who becomes her rival. Foster also appears as Nicole, offering a different perspective on Joanne’s life.
All 10 episodes of Season 3 are now streaming on Netflix, continuing the show’s blend of romance, family tension, and humor.
