When it comes to the still-expanding Marvel reunion on Daredevil: Born Again, a few faces won’t be present.
Even as Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, and a host of other stars from the Defenders-themed Netflix series from the 2010s get back together on screen, Carrie-Anne Moss tells Entertainment Weekly she won’t be joining them.
When asked if Marvel contacted her to reprise her character for Born Again‘s third and final season (coming in 2027), she said simply, “No.”

Moss played Jeri Hogarth, a formidable attorney introduced in Jessica Jones (2015-2019). The actress, known for The Matrix and Memento, reprised the part for Cox’s Daredevil season 2 (2016), the Jones-led Iron First (2017), and then the Avengers-style miniseries team-up, The Defenders (2017).
Many of those characters, from Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk to Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, came back for the Disney+ successor show Daredevil: Born Again. However, Moss says she’s actively trying to re-team with Ritter, Jessica Jones herself, on a new film called Claire.
Deadline was the first to report in November 2025 that Moss was attached to the creature horror-thriller. The movie follows a single mother (Ritter) battling addiction when a malevolent creature that feeds on despair begins to terrorize her and her two sons.
“Krysten Ritter and I are like besties,” Moss tells EW during an interview for a Yagadigital cover story. “So we’re always trying to think of things to do together. So that’s something in development. We’re always looking to do something. We just talked yesterday. We have a million ideas. She’s such a dear friend of mine.”

Moss also stars in Yaga, a modern-day detective-thriller reimagining of the witchy Baba Yaga myth. She plays Katherine Hargrove, a professor at the local university in the seaside town of Whittock where authorities are searching for the missing heir to a fishery empire.
The actress acknowledges the irony of getting involved in more horror (or horror-adjacent) projects. “I have such a hard time watching spooky things,” the star says.

It came out in September that Daredevil: Born Again season 3 will now conclude the Marvel series, and with it the Defenders reunion.
Cox, Ritter, and Jones came out to promote the show in the following weeks at a New York Comic Con panel, where the crowd audibly booed at the mention of the cancellation. “I imagine the ‘Save Daredevil’ campaign will be gearing up for round two,” Cox said, which prompted cheers. “You don’t want to invite the wrath of the Save Daredevil people.”
