The 2026 Eisner Awards, one of the most prestigious awards given to comics, were presented at the San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. They are given to comics published in the United States in the previous year, though creators themselves do not need to be American.
The award began in 1988, and it is named after comics pioneer Will Eisner. As of 2026, Eisners are given in 32 categories. There are also awards given to honor excellence in writing, newcomers to comics, best retailer, and more.
This year’s slate of finalists included titles from 75 different publishers, with DC Comics, Fantagraphics, and Image Comics scoring the most nominations at 16, 14, and 12, respectively.
Here’s a look at several of the winners in a number of the Eisner categories.
