A South Korean graphic novel has won a prestigious US comic industry award for the first time, marking a milestone for the country’s comics.

The 2026 Eisner Awards, one of the most prestigious awards given to comics, were presented at the San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. They are given to comics published in the United States in the previous year, though creators themselves do not need to be American.
