While 12 jurors will decide Lindsay Clancy’s fate, people outside the courtroom have been reaching their own conclusions as her triple murder trial draws worldwide attention and fuels a growing phenomenon researchers call “forensic fandom.”

One day after JudgeWilliam Sullivansent home jurors early for an “unforeseen circumstance,” he once again dismissed the court early Aug. 20. 

The 36-year-old’s trial—in which she faces three counts of first-degree murder after admitting to killing her kids Cora, 5, Dawson, 3 and Callan, 8 months, in 2023—has encountered an unexpected delay when Judge William Sullivan suddenly excused the jury for the day on Aug. 19.
