Warden!, a French comedy led by Audrey Lamy, Jean-Pascal Zadi, Benjamin Tranié and Eva Huault, is available on Disney+ since September 16, 2026. Created by John Wax and Gauthier Plancquaert, the series follows the chaotic daily life of the officers at a detention center where those who enforce the rules are often the first to bend them.
In Chenoise, Corinne Maillard runs the facility with a sunny optimism and a motherly instinct that scarcely align with the hard realities of prison life. She looks out for both the inmates and her guards, including Jeff, her authoritarian deputy who longs for a promotion; JP, who’s more comfortable around prisoners than with his colleagues; and Stéphanie, a fresh recruit determined to prove herself.
Corinne’s already delicate balance is shattered when her son—whom she no longer talks to—gets incarcerated in the very prison she runs. The director then tries to reconnect with him without losing control of her staff or giving up on the belief that prison can offer a second chance.

Directed by John Wax, the series uses a handheld-camera approach to follow as closely as possible the improvisations and the crew’s shaky decisions. The filmmaker reunites with Jean-Pascal Zadi after Tout simply noir. The actor, also starring in the film Le Rêve américain, portrays JP here, a prison guard convinced he fully understands the inmates.
Made up of eight 26-minute episodes, this Nabi Productions project also brings together Jérémy Nadeau, David Ayala and Logan Lefèbvre. A number of guest stars round out the cast, including Ramzy Bedia, Hakim Jemili, Gustave Kervern, François Damiens and Louise Coldefy.
