It’s a brand-new day for TerrifiCon, aka Connecticut’s largest comic book convention.
Celebrating the start of its second decade of existence, Mitch Hallock — president of Big Fedora Marketing LLC and brilliant mastermind behind TerrifiCon — has become the unofficial “Master of the Uncasville Convention Scene” and “Marketing Man of Tomorrow” getting his superhero power and scheduling skills from the Mohegan Sun.
Although TerrifiCon is truly a comic con, Hallock has been consistently adding more beloved film and television actors into his hefty roster of guests over the years and this year’s comic book and celebrity lineup is epic quality.
Back From the Future
She played water-skiing, shark-bait in “Jaws 3-D.” She played Tom Cruise and Howard the Duck’s girlfriend in “All the Right Moves” and, you guessed it, “Howard the Duck.” She played a member of the Wolverines, a renegade group of high school freedom fighters, fighting against U.S. invaders in “Red Dawn.”
And, if that isn’t enough, she starred as Lorraine Baines-McFly, mother of Marty McFly, in one of the greatest movies released in the ‘80s and arguably one of the greatest movies of all time, “Back to the Future.”
In the ‘80s, every guy wanted her to be their girlfriend. She’s Lea Thompson and she’s headlining TerrifiCon with plenty of Hollywood stories and that signature million-dollar smile.
Raising ‘Anarchy’
Best known as the lion-faced Vincent on “Beauty and the Beast” and horn-trimmed Hellboy in “Hellboy” and “Hellboy 2: The Golden Army,” Ron Perlman also found a brand-new legions of fans starring as outlaw motorcycle club leader Clarence “Clay” Morrow on “Sons of Anarchy.”
A consummate actor, even if his face is often hidden underneath heavy prosthetics, Perlman has made an illustrious career playing beasts and beast men — sometimes menacing, often misunderstood, always interesting — that usually have more depth and emotions than his human counterparts.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Royalty
When it comes to royalty in the United States, no one comes closer than Priscilla Presley.
Married to the undisputed “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” aka Elvis Presley, Priscilla carved a niche for herself as nighttime soap opera star on “Dallas” and showed off her comedic chops as Jane Spencer, on-again, off-again and on-again love interest to Detective Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) in “The Naked Gun” film series.
When she made her first comic con appearance in New England two years ago in Rhode Island, Priscilla was the queen of panel discussions.
Honest and open, maybe too honest and open, Priscilla candidly talked about her relationship with Elvis, the good and the bad, and swas gracious with her fans.
I had the opportunity to ask Priscilla if there was one song that Elvis recorded that is too emotionally difficult for her to listen to today and she answered, with tears in her eyes, “Always on My Mind.” Priscilla Presley is a TerrifiCon guest that attendees will soon not forget.
Also presenting …
Patrick Warburton, who played David Puddy on “Seinfeld,” the title character on “The Tick” and Jeff Bingham on “Rules of Engagement,” will be hobnobbing with guests.
Whether playing Klingon Lieutenant Klag who barks at Commander William Riker that “Gagh is always best when served live,” a mysterious and menacing alien bounty hunter on “The X-Files” or Bozworth, the bug-eating vampire servant in “Fright Night Part 2,” Brian Thompson always know how to leave a lasting impression and order a meal.
If ‘80s cartoon nostalgia you’re thing, you won’t want to miss TerrifiCon’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” voiceover reunion with the cartoon’s four hard shell heroes (Rob Paulsen, Townsend Coleman, Cam Clarke and Barry Gordon), plus the voice behind the animated April O’Neil (Renae Jacobs).
If “Rick & Morty” is more your thing (and, yes, you can have more than one thing), TerrifiCon has the voice talents behind Rick (Ian Cardoni), Morty (Harry Beldon), Spencer Grammer (Summer Smith) and Maurice Lamarce (adult Morty Jr. And Bigfoot).
Celebrity talents that are also attending include, Diedrich Bader of “The Drew Carey Show”; Charisma Carpenter, Cordelia Chase on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and its spinoff “Angel”; a mini “Sons of Anarchy” reunion with Theo Rossi, Emilio Rivera and the aforementioned Ron Perlman; a “Peacemaker” reunion with Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee and Nhut Le; Tyler Mane, Sabertooth in “X-Men” and “Deadpool & Wolverine”: plus many more.

How much: Tickets for adults are $45 for Friday, $49 for Saturday and $42 for Sunday, and $132 for a three-day adult pass. Tickets for kids ages 10 to 13 are $25 for Friday and Saturday and $20 for Sunday, and $70 for a three-day kid pass.
