Epic Games has officially announced the new Gem Sprite variants, set to arrive on August 6.
Releasing at 9AM ET (2PM BST) as part of this week’s New Sprite Day, the drop will introduce eight new Gem Sprites to Battle Royale. These will join the Gem Llama Sprite released with the v41.30 update, bringing the total to nine. The following Sprites are expected to receive the new Gem variant:
- Water
- Earth
- Duck
- Demon
- Aura
- Punk
- Zero Point
- Grim
- Llama
Like other Sprite variants, Gem versions retain the ability of the original while providing an additional bonus. Carrying one will reduce fall damage by 30%, with the effect stacking alongside the base Sprite’s ability.
Gem Sprites will be available through Sprite Chests, with increased spawn rates during New Sprite Day. Gem Hours will also take place on August 8, temporarily making the new variants easier to find.
Some players previously obtained Gem Sprites early through the Sprite Hunt Rift Anomaly. Epic temporarily disabled the affected variants, but has confirmed they will automatically return to player inventories once officially released.
