At Anime Expo 2026, the Solo Leveling anime got a new movie announcement: Solo Leveling: Beyond the System. It picks up right after Solo Leveling season 2, Arise from the Shadow, and moves the main story ahead. So this isn’t another recap film. It’s a real sequel, not a side trip

The reveal happened during Anime Expo 2026, where producers said Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is now in production and that A-1 Pictures is back to handle the animation
That’s a big distinction. A lot of anime movies attached to popular TV series turn out to be compilation cuts or bonus material you can skip. Beyond the System is being set up as a canon continuation,closer to the lane Demon Slayer: Mugen Train opened when it showed how much theatrical anime could do
Behind it, you’ve got Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media, and Kakao Piccoma. And the numbers around Solo Leveling are already huge. Crunchyroll said the series became the first anime on the platform to pass 1 million ratings in May 2026, with 95% of those coming in at five stars. Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- did solid business too, bringing in about $2.4 million during its US opening weekend in December 2024
And this thing has deep roots by now. It started as Chugong’s Korean web novel, then turned into the Solo Leveling webtoon from DUBU and REDICE Studio, which has racked up 14.3 billion views worldwide. Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is headed for theaters. No release date yet
