During its industry panel at Otakon 2026,Omoiannounced that it haslicensedShinji Wada’sDelinquent Detective: Sukeban Dekashojo manga series for exclusive digital release on its platform, as well as theaddition of multiple titles from Kodansha.
Omoi is releasing theDelinquent Detective: Sukeban Dekamanga series in English for the first time and licensed it from Akita Shoten in Japan through Digital Catapult. It will begin releasing English chapters starting in fall 2026, with chapters available exclusively through the service’s premium digital subscription.
Wada’s manga was serialized in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume shojo magazine from 1975 to 1982. A total of 22 tankobon volumes were published in Japan. The series also inspired several live-action Japanese TV dramas, live-action films, video games, and two OVA episodes in 1991.
Omoi describes the main synopsis ofDelinquent Detective: Sukeban Dekaas:
Saki Asamiya is a fearsome high school delinquent imprisoned in an inescapable juvenile detention center. Her chance at freedom comes when she accepts a deal from the police: infiltrate Japan’s elite schools to investigate crimes the cops can’t touch, and her mother will be spared from execution. Undercover as a regular student, Saki sets off to unmask criminal conspiracies, wielding a custom steel yo-yo as she faces off against corrupt teachers and scheming students. Experience the classic shojo manga that inspired the beloved live action Sukeban Deka series and influenced generations of anime and manga, including Kill la Kill!
The digital platform also announced the addition of 54 manga series from Kodansha that will arrive on the platform in the coming weeks. All of the new titles will be available as volume purchases, with premium members getting 20% off all volume purchases.
Early volumes from six titles —After the Rain, Blood on the Tracks, Dororo, nichijou, Paradise Kiss, andWelcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun— are now available, while the full catalog will be available in the coming weeks. The list of newly added manga series is as follows:
