Seoul will hold its autumn Seoul Welcome Week from September 19 through October 11, offering foreign visitors tourism discounts, cultural activities and special events across the city.
The 23-day program coincides with several major East Asian holiday periods, including Japan’s Silver Week and China’s Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.
This year, activities will expand beyond Myeongdong to airports, tourist information centers and other locations. Beginning September 19, welcome events will be offered at 13 tourist information centers and booths, including Incheon and Gimpo airports.
A limited number of foreign visitors arriving at the airports will receive a special Discover Seoul Pass Heritage Edition, providing free admission to 12 heritage attractions, including Seoul’s four major palaces, Jongmyo Shrine and Joseon royal tombs, as well as discounts at more than 110 participating facilities.
Myeongdong will host a Seoul Welcome Center near Exit 6 of Myeongdong Station from October 1 to 8, featuring multilingual tourism assistance, K-pop performances, lucky draws and interactive art programs.
The Seoul Culture Lounge at Seoul Tourism Plaza will offer traditional dance lessons, songpyeon making and other Korean cultural experiences from September 19 through October 10.
Foreign visitors can also receive 20% off Seoul Cruise tickets during Welcome Week. Special programs at the Yeouido Cruise Terminal will include K-pop performances, traditional cultural activities and a rooftop night market overlooking the Han River.
