New Hulu TV Shows and Movies in September 2026

Nothing says fall TV like a private eye taking odd jobs and a celebrity doing the samba. ABC’s RJ Decker and Dancing with the Stars are back to usher in the fall TV season this September on Hulu; each show’s season premiere hits the streamer on Sept. 16, the day after debuting on ABC.

The month kicks off on Sept. 3 with Glen Powell’s Hulu original Chad Powers, a show that’s also very appropriate for fall because it’s about football and wearing a weird mask. Plus, FX’s Snowfall spin-off The Drop: A Snowfall Saga premieres Sept. 8, and the lucky 13th season of American Horror Story creeps into the picture on Sept. 24. It’s never too early to start getting in the Halloween mindset.

On the movies side, a pair of recent Oscar nominees — Wicked and A Complete Unknown — are the highlights.

Below you’ll find our picks for what to watch, plus the full list of everything coming to Hulu in September.

The best new shows and movies on Hulu in September

Chad Powers Season 2 (Sept. 3)

Just in time for football season, the only fake quarterback on TV inspired by an Eli Manning sketch character is back. Glen Powell’s Russ Holliday, a disgraced college football phenom who conned his way into a second chance in Season 1 by disguising himself as walk-on Chad Powers, is a star on the field heading into Season 2, but off the field, his bizarre ruse is in danger of falling apart. If Russ is going to fend off suspicions and lead the Catfish to the playoffs, he’s going to need Ricky’s (Perry Mattfeld) help — but Ricky, who’s still reeling from learning Russ’ secret, isn’t eager to give it to him. In a change from Season 1, all six episodes of Season 2 will be released at once. [Trailer]

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga (Sept. 8, 9/8c)

FX’s ’80s-set crime drama Snowfall ended with a time jump to 1990, teasing a new era for the characters. The franchise is ready to make good on that promise with the spin-off The Drop, which follows Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) as they try to build new legacies for themselves in ’90s Los Angeles. West Coast rap is on the rise, and Wanda believes in its power, but she’ll have to play a dangerous game if she wants to make her mark on the music scene. New episodes drop Tuesdays at 9/8c on both Hulu and FX. [Trailer]

American Horror Story: 13 (Sept. 24, 9/8c)

All of Ryan Murphy’s pals are getting back together for American Horror Story‘s lucky 13th season. The FX anthology’s next installment (which comes with the straightforward title American Horror Story: 13) is still appropriately shrouded in mystery, but Evan Peters — one of many fan favorites returning to the franchise — has called it a ” greatest-hits season,” and the cast list backs him up. Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Jessica Lange, John Waters, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari, and more are on board. The season kicks off with a three-episode premiere, followed by new episodes Thursdays at 9/8c on FX and Hulu. [Teaser]
