RuriDragon has been plagued with breaks and hiatuses over the years, but here is what we know about the next chapter of this hit manga

The RuriDragon release schedule has been a little haphazard at times. Shortly after it began serialization in 2022, the mangaka took an extended break for their health. The series would come back nearly two years later and has been published fairly consistently since then. However, there are still some breaks in the regularly scheduled RuriDragon release schedule, which is where we can help
How often do new RuriDragon chapters come out?
New RuriDragonchapters are usually released every two to four weeks. This seems to be a more sustainable pace for Masaoki Shindo, the mangaka who created the series. After a bumpy launch, which included an 18-month hiatus a month after the first chapter was posted, RuriDragon has struggled with consistency in its release schedule. The series has taken multiple breaks over the past year, though they have all been relatively short
When is RuriDragon 48 out?
The next chapter of RuriDragon will be Chapter 48 and will be released on July 12, 2026. This follows the erratic release schedule that the series has dealt with throughout 2026, when each chapter’s release date was unpredictable. The most recent chapter of RuriDragon was Chapter 47, released on June 14, 2026
The upcoming RuriDragon release schedule is:
- RuriDragon chapter 48 release date: July 12, 2026
- RuriDragon chapter 49 release date: To be announced

Where can you read RuriDragon?
You can read RuriDragon on either the Shonen Jump App or on the Viz Media website. Both have the newest chapters available almost immediately after they are released in Japan
What time is the new RuriDragon chapter released?
Although it isn’t a regular staple of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, RuriDragon follows roughly the same release schedule as One Piece.New chapters are released at 11:00 am EST on Sundays, which corresponds to Monday morning in Japan
Will RuriDragon have an anime?
In December 2025, it was confirmed that there would be a RuriDragon anime. No release window has been confirmed, though we do know that it is being produced by Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid studio, Kyoto Animation
Did Masaoki Shindo work on One Piece?
Last year, it was confirmed that Masaoki Shindo, the creator of RuriDragon, worked as an assistant to Eiichiro Oda on One Piece. It isn’t necessarily surprising, considering how long One Piece has been running and how many successful assistants Oda has had over the years, but it was confirmed in One Piece magazine in late 2025
Is the creator of RuriDragon male or female?
It has never been confirmed whether Masaoki Shindo, the creator of RuriDragon, is male or female. They have hidden most of their personal information out of privacy concerns. This isn’t unusual in the manga industry, where mangaka will sometimes work under pseudonyms, such as One Punch Man creator ONE, or intentionally hide their appearance, such as Witch Hat Atelier creator Kamome Shirahame, who typically appears with her face hidden
How long was RuriDragon on hiatus?
The first major hiatus for RuriDragon was around 18 months, and it came just a few weeks after the series debuted. The first chapter of RuriDragon was released on June 13, 2022. On August 1, 2022, it went on a break that became an indefinite hiatus due to the health of creator Masaoki Shindo. That break lasted around 18 months and ended in February 2024. Since then, the series has had a more consistent release schedule. However, there are usually several weeks between chapters
