POP CULTURE NEWS 262: NEW MUSIC FROM A TOP ARTIST + MORE THINGS

Hey, there! Friday is here and as we close out the week, we’re going to round up those pop culture-y (aka the fun!) headline stories from this past week. The biggest of which are about one of the top musical artists. Let’s go. pop culture news 262

THE POP CULTURE NEWS BULLETIN 262

The Pop Culture News Bulletin is a weekly roundup of the recent and trending news stories in the entertainment industry or stories that fall into the pop culture subcategory. Every Friday we feature stories that fit the content we frequently cover

The artist, who released The Life of a Showgirl in October of 2025, announced this week that she has as new single, ‘Patient Zero’ and then the next day, she announced The Life of a Showgirl: the Encore which will have three additional tracks in addition to the new single. The three additional song titles are ‘Cleveland!,’ ‘Pink Clouding’ and ‘Babylon.’ These additions came, according to Swift, in celebration of the success of the 2025 release. Her Instagram post reads as follows:

“About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history. I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album. Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs. I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made. The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore including four new songs is out on Friday and available to pre-order and save now ❤️‍🔥” – via Taylor Swift

She’ll also debut the music video for ‘Patient Zero’ Sunday at the VMAs which will feature Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. The four songs are now available digitally.

September 24th marks the 20th anniversary of the much-loved BBC adaptation of Jane Eyrewith Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson. I reflect on some thoughts in an anniversary post.

Though published earlier this week, I do have a roundup of all that we, aka the viewers, know about the upcoming season of Nobody Wants This. I updated that post this week because the trailer dropped! See everything plus the trailer here.

Depending on your mood, if you are looking for a new watch, NBC just debuted its new crime drama Line of Fire (find episode one on Peacock) or you can watch the adaptation of The Love Hypothesis (Prime Video) which is an R-rated adaptation of the novel by Ali Hazelwood.

And this closes out the pop culture news edition 262! How many of these have you read up on? Which ones did RW miss? Share those comments below! Let’s talk.
