Netflix is looking for contestants to immerse themselves in a life-size Monopoly Town Square for a chance to win a $2 million prize in a new competition series.
The show “Monopoly” is set to premiere in 2027 and will feature 12 contestants making deals, earning money and purchasing properties as they attempt to build their empires.
Players who go bankrupt will be eliminated one by one. The last-standing contestant will win it all.
Those interested in competing can submit an application that includes a one-minute video. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
The classic Monopoly board is based on iconic streets in Atlantic City, including St. James Place and New York Avenue.
The series is produced by Studio Lambert, whose credits include Netflix’s “Squid Game: The Challenge” and “The Circle.”
“Monopoly” will join Netflix’s slate of competition series based on shows and games.
Another competition series, “Wonka’s The Golden Ticket,” inspired by Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” is scheduled to premiere in September.
Netflix is developing a 292-acre production studio at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown and Oceanport. The studio recently hit a construction milestone and is slated to become the streaming giant’s flagship production facility on the East Coast.
