Marvel and WEBTOON Launch Digital Comics App Replacing Marvel Unlimited

Marvel Comics and WEBTOON Entertainment announced the launch of a new digital comics app set for release on November 16, 2026, offering access to more than 35,000 digital titles. The service will officially replace Marvel Unlimited, which will sunset on December 7, 2026.

Developed by WEBTOON Entertainment for mobile and web platforms, the service features digital comics from Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios. The platform supports both traditional page-based comics and vertical-scroll formats alongside personalized recommendation tools and Pull List features.

Marvel leadership highlighted the expansion into broader digital comic distribution during the announcement.

“We know that there is a large audience of readers who are looking to experience comics digitally, and there is no richer library than Marvel Comics,” said David Abdo, General Manager, Marvel Comics and Franchise. “We’re excited to partner with WEBTOON, industry leaders in the space, to create a new app that can continue to grow and evolve with the way readers discover and experience comics.”

WEBTOON representatives emphasized the technical collaboration behind the launch.

“The Marvel Comics app represents a new chapter in helping fans connect with the stories they love,” said Yongsoo Kim, President of WEBTOON Entertainment. “By combining WEBTOON’s expertise in building digital comics platforms with Marvel’s unparalleled storytelling legacy, we’re making it easier for longtime fans and new readers alike to explore Marvel’s universe and discover their next favorite story.”

The app offers two subscription tiers: a Base tier for $9.99 per month or $69.99 per year with new issues available three months after print release, and an Ultimate tier for $12.49 per month or $99.99 per year providing access 30 days after print release. Existing Marvel Unlimited subscribers will receive prorated refunds starting November 16, 2026, and can migrate their saved libraries and reading history to WEBTOON accounts before the December 7 sunset date.
