Webtoon Entertainment, a global story and digital comic company, will acquire a 60 percent stake in game developer RI Games Holdings to create video games based on its webtoons, the company announced on Monday. 

NEW YORK, Aug. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Kuehn Law, PLLC, a shareholder litigation law firm, is investigating whether certain officers and directors of WEBTOON Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ: WBTN) breached their fiduciary duties to shareholders. 

Webtoon Entertainment’s Q2 results show an adjusted EPS of $0.04, beating the $(0.07) estimate by 157.14%, though down 42.86% YoY. Sales of $338.465M missed the $339.461M estimate by 0.29% and fell 2.82% from the prior year’s $348.300M.

WEBTOON Entertainment’s Q2 2026 results show a 2.8% revenue decline to $338.5 million due to FX, while constant-currency revenue grew 5.2%. Net loss widened to $14.6 million, but adjusted EBITDA of $5.5 million beat guidance. The company announced a strategic investment in RI Games Holdings Inc. and provided Q3 2026 outlook with modest growth expectations.

WEBTOON ENTERTAINMENT ($WBTN) is expected to release its quarterly earnings data on Monday, August 10th after market close, per Finnhub. Analysts are expecting revenue of $346,249,710 and earnings of -$0.07 per share.

Vertical-scroll originals revealed at SDCC 2026 include a young Tony Stark romance, a Deadpool portal story and a Korea-set X-Men series about a newly awakened mutant; launch details have not yet been announced.
