Over the weekend, the Morake and Dube families gathered to finalise the lobola process, welcoming Nomoya Dube as the newest makoti – and Grammy-winning composer Lebo M couldn’t be prouder.
Taking to social media platform Instagram from his Los Angeles home, the Lion King composer shared pictures from the ceremony, expressing how much he misses home while celebrating a milestone he calls “blessed indeed”.
“The Morake and Dube families gathered over the weekend to end the Lobola process. Morake fam went home with their Makoti AKERE, what a beautiful culture we have,” he captioned his post.
The composer first introduced Dube to the world at the 2026 Nedbank International Polo event. In a TikTok video clip shared by designer Craig Jacobs, Lebo M set the record straight about his marital status.
“I’ve been married before Moya four times,” he said, before adding: “This is my last, final, happy marriage.”
Having let Mzansi run with assumptions for months, the producer shared how he met Moya, now affectionately known as “Mrs Mo.” It all happened when he was casting for his forthcoming reality project, Last Queen Standing, which he said is coming soon.
“Only in South Africa is there always something about my personal life and my bedroom,” he said.
Speaking to YOU magazine, he revealed that he met his wife during the casting for the docu-reality series and quietly married in January, away from the spotlight.
He also opened up about what many have been curious about: his frequency of marriage. At 61, Lebo said he has reached a point where he’d rather commit than play the field.
“I started having a problem with hearing my friends in their fifties and sixties say, ‘Meet my girlfriend’. I’d rather be accountable to somebody other than my mother. Dating is a waste of time, energy and money,” he told the publication.
