Fortnite’s Sonic the Hedgehog crossover is now official. Epic Games has released the first teaser trailer for Chapter 7 Season 4, confirming that Sonic the Hedgehog is joining the upcoming season after months of rumours. The brief teaser shared on the official Sonic the Hedgehog page doesn’t show the blue hedgehog directly, but it confirms that Sonic-themed content will arrive with “Overdrive,” the next Fortnite season. The X post read, “This new “Fortnite” Zone feels oddly familiar…”The 10-second teaser features Fortnite’s Peely sprinting across the island in Sonic’s signature style. Peely runs through a loop and collects the franchise’s iconic golden rings before the trailer ends with the Chapter 7 Season 4: Overdrive logo, confirming the collaboration ahead of the season’s launch.

The teaser suggests the collaboration may include Sonic game features beyond aesthetics alone. The video contains a cycle pattern, ring collecting and fast movements, meaning that during matches players may have Sonic’s abilities or objects.The teaser also hints at possible map changes, with parts of the Fortnite island expected to feature locations or mechanics associated with the Sega franchise.
