Watch:Kristin Cavallari Says She Gave Jay Cutler “Half the Value” of Her Company in Divorce
Kristin Cavallari is being honest about splitting assets with her ex-husband Jay Cutler
The Let’s Be Honestpodcast host—whose divorce from Cutler was finalized two years after their 2020 split—detailed how she and the ex-NFL star’s monetary assets were divided in their divorce, sharing that she had to give Cutler “half the value” of her company Uncommon James.
“What ultimately gave me the confidence to leave my marriage was the success of Uncommon James,” she explained on the July 8 episode of the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast. “That gave me the confidence to be like, ‘I know what I’m doing,’ which is interesting because if I didn’t have Uncommon James, I could have taken half of his money, right?”
The Hills alum—who shares kids Camden, 13, Jaxon, 12, and Saylor, 10, with Cutler—noted that her successful jewelry and skincare line was a “really large asset” on her and her ex’s balance sheet

And while she claimed she did not get “anything” in her divorce, she’s “so happy” about it looking back.
“I don’t get any money from my ex-husband,” Cavallari shared with host Emma Grede. “I had to give him half the value of Uncommon James in cash and properties and everything else.”
Although the Laguna Beach alum stressed that she was “really pissed at the time” about having to split the brand’s value, she now only feels grateful
“I’m so thankful, because for me, I’ve needed these things in my life to keep going,” she said. “I have found that that is an instance where I was like, ‘I’m going to fight harder.’ Those little moments push me, and I actually come out the other side stronger.”

Previously, the 39-year-old asserted in June 2025 that she has “never gotten a penny” from Cutler, while also shutting down speculation that Cutler funded Uncommon James, stating that she’s a “100 percent owner.”
Cutler, meanwhile, later denied his ex’s claims, calling them “reckless” and “irresponsible.”
“It’s borderline slander to insinuate that there was zero dollars split during the marriage that each side got,” he said on an August episode of his Take It Outside podcast. “It’s insanity and it’s completely false, completely untrue.”

“At that moment, something wasn’t right,” she writes in her 2016 book. “A few things needed to change, and I knew the only way Jay would see how serious I was, was if I ended the relationship.”
“It was so silly,” the bride-to-be tells E! News of their reconciliation. “I was in the airport, leaving Chicago. We had just spent however many days together and we were texting and somehow it came up, like, ‘Oh, shall we get married?’ We’re like, ‘Yeah, OK.’ And then he sent my ring in the mail. So I actually had my ring sitting at home for a couple of weeks before I put it on.”
“Kristin and Jay are so happy!” an insider dishes. “They were surrounded by friends and family. Kristin is so thrilled to welcome her new baby girl to her family. Jaxon and Camden are excited to be older brothers. She is feeling great!”
“Jay and I, our relationship, we are very honest. We don’t have a perfect relationship,” she tells SiriusXM’s Wake Up With Taylor. “We work on it. We’re in therapy.”
“It’s been tough, it’s been a roller coaster…I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard,” she says, “I’m going to be with my family on the actual day, which hopefully will help. Talking about it is probably the most important thing so I’m lucky I have a great support system with my immediate family, with Jay and with my parents as well.”
“When season two was airing, there was a lot of talk on social media about Jay and Kelly having an affair. Not for one second have I ever thought that it was true,” she recalls on Very Cavallari. “It wasn’t the actual accusations of them having an affair that made me upset, it was how Kelly went about it.”
“This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family,” Kristin writes in part.
