Kiosk-based entertainment technology company Kiorobo has earned innovative growth venture company certification just three years after its founding, demonstrating its technological capabilities. The company is also showcasing a range of new AI technologies at the ‘Sface Nexus’ pop-up exhibition, which runs through Oct. 3 in Hongdae, Seoul’s Mapo district.
Innovative growth venture company certification is awarded after a comprehensive evaluation of a company’s technological innovation and business growth potential. Kiorobo has completed applications for four patents, including an ‘AI-based real-time precision detection patent for harmful content’ applied to its fandom platform, the ‘Sface’ ecosystem, earning recognition for its innovation. With the certification, the company plans to significantly expand its research and development investment by taking advantage of benefits including corporate tax reductions.
The Sface Nexus pop-up exhibition, which opened Sept. 28 on the first floor of SVC Seoul in Hongdae, gives the public a chance to experience the results of the company’s venture certification firsthand. The site is demonstrating technologies including the ‘real-time multi-kiosk orchestration technology’, for which a patent application is pending, as well as ‘AI Prompt Shot’ and ‘Mosaic Cloud Canvas.’ The exhibits have drawn an enthusiastic response from visitors.
At the pop-up, visitors can use the Sface app to broadcast fandom commemorative videos and other content in real time on the large electronic billboard on the first floor. They can also print fan-cam or creator merchandise images for free at the photo kiosk on-site, which offers a special photography experience incorporating generative AI technology. An event is also underway to give away blush from a beauty brand to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lee Ho-jin, a director at Kiorobo, said, “Following the venture company certification, we are preparing additional patent applications to further develop the platform. Going forward, we will move beyond simple photo kiosk solutions and actively apply our solutions to a broad range of corporate business-to-business operations outside the fandom market, drawing on our display-control and integration technologies.”
