Angola’s Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ), in partnership with the National Association for the Fight against Drugs (ANLD), has carried out a solidarity visit to the Christ in the Heart Youth Cultural Association as part of activities marking Responsible Gaming Week.
The visit, held on 13 October, formed part of the ISJ’s 12th-anniversary celebrations and aimed to reinforce its commitment to social responsibility, community support and the protection of vulnerable populations. The Christ in the Heart Youth Cultural Association provides rehabilitation, accommodation and assistance to elderly people, young people and children experiencing social vulnerability.
The visiting delegation was received by Bishop Arnaldo Neves Kassumba, who welcomed the representatives and guided them through the institution’s facilities, offering an opportunity to learn more about the needs of its residents and the association’s ongoing social support initiatives.
During the visit, the ISJ and ANLD delivered food donations to support the needs of people receiving care at the center. The contribution was intended to assist the association in its efforts to promote the well-being and dignity of the individuals under its care, highlighting the role of community partnerships in supporting vulnerable groups.
The initiative also demonstrated the ISJ’s broader approach to responsible gaming, extending its focus beyond the regulation and supervision of the gaming industry to include social welfare and community engagement. Through the initiative, the ISJ reiterated that responsible gaming involves more than regulatory compliance. It also encompasses protecting individuals, promoting well-being and contributing to a more inclusive and socially conscious society.
The solidarity visit formed part of the Institute’s anniversary programme under the theme, “ISJ – 12 Years of Strengthening Supervision and Promoting Responsible Gaming.” As the anniversary activities continue, the Institute is reaffirming its commitment to strengthening gaming oversight while promoting responsible gaming practices and safeguarding citizens.
The initiative underscores the importance of integrating social responsibility into the gaming sector, with particular attention to community support and the protection of vulnerable populations. By partnering with the ANLD, the ISJ also highlighted the value of collaboration in advancing social initiatives alongside its regulatory responsibilities in Angola’s gaming industry.
