Is Fortnite down?
The popular Battle Royale game <a href="https://comicvibe.com/exclusive-official-full-idw-november-and-december-2026-solicits/” title=”Exclusive: Official Full IDW November And December 2026 Solicits”>officially went offline at 2 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20 as Epic Games gets ready for the launch of a new season.
“Break the rules. Change the game,” Fortnite Status posted on X on Wednesday. “Downtime for v42.00 begins at 2 AM ET (6 AM UTC) with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.”
Fortnite’s Chapter 7, Season 3 Runners began back on June 6. The new season will launch on Thursday morning and is called Chapter 7, Season 4 Override.
When does the new Fortnite season drop?
New Fortnite seasons normally is available a few hours after the current season ends and usually the update is available to download by around 6 a.m. Eastern time.
What we know about new Fortnite season
The new Override season pays homage to classic video game franchises.
Fornite island has apparently been “hacked” and the crossover characters from other games will include:
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Pac-Man
- Crash Bandicoot
- Ryu and Street Fighter characters
- Master Chief
- Spyro the Dragon
- Lara Croft
- Customizable Robolox character
Sonic’s dash, a Pac-Man island and cartridges that alter games for all play appear to be some of the highlights. The sprites will also remain this season with new additions.
When you buy the new battle pass, you automatically get a Sonic the Hedgehog character.
