Fortnite is offline as Epic Games rolls out Chapter 7, Season 4, titled “Override,” and the new season is shaping up to be one of the game’s biggest crossover events yet.

The multiplayer game went offline this morning to allow developers Epic Games to roll out a major new update, numbered version 42.

Fortnite went offline early Thursday as Epic Games began scheduled maintenance for the v42.00 update, which launches Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Servers were expected to return around 7 a.m. ET, although the timing could change as maintenance continued.

The popular Battle Royale game officially went offline at 2 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20 as Epic Games gets ready for the launch of a new season.
