A great stream creates more than the moments viewers experience live. It creates clips that can keep introducing people to a <a href="https://comicvibe.com/kick-streamer-bigloaf-reportedly-threatens-streamer-awards-with/” title=”Kick Streamer BigLoaf Reportedly Threatens Streamer Awards With…”>streamer and their community long after the stream ends.
We want more of those moments to work for streamers. That means helping great clips travel further, reach people who may not have discovered that streamer yet, and ultimately create more opportunities for streamers to grow their communities.
That’s why we’re investing in new ways to promote streamer clips, including beyond Twitch. Recaps Spotlight is the first program built around that idea, and it’s the beginning of a broader investment in helping streamers get more value from the content they and their communities are already creating.
Launching Today: Recaps Spotlight
The first program built on this investment is Recaps Spotlight, which is launching alongside Stream Recaps.
Stream Recaps give viewers a way to catch up on streams they missed and relive the best moments, all through clips. The more you review and curate your Stream Recaps, the better they represent your stream and your community. With Recaps Spotlight, that effort can go even further.
As part of this Recaps Spotlight, Twitch’s distribution partners may select standout clips from a streamer’s Stream Recap and share them on their social media accounts on platforms like Instagram and YouTube. Every promoted clip credits the streamer and points viewers back to their Twitch channel, so someone discovering a great moment can also discover the community behind it.
Streamers who want to participate can do so through their Clip Settings on Web. There’s no cost to the streamer. The more consistently a streamer reviews and curates their Stream Recaps, the more content is available to be considered.
Recaps Spotlight is rolling out to Partners only over the next couple of days. We’re using this initial phase to learn, and develop the program. As the program evolves, opportunities could be open to Affiliates in the future.
What Guides Our Approach
- Streamer growth is the goal. Promotion is designed to introduce more people to the streamer and community behind a great moment, with clear attribution back to their Twitch channel.
- Community signals help us find great moments. How viewers engage with clips can help surface content that is resonating on Twitch, alongside other factors we consider when determining what to promote.
- Streamers stay in control. Participation in Recaps Spotlight is optional, and streamers can change their participation settings at any time.
- Promotion is selective and safety matters. Participating does not guarantee that a clip will be promoted. Content considered for promotion is subject to eligibility and safety standards.
What’s Ahead
Recaps Spotlight is the starting point. We’re exploring how clip promotion can extend into major game launches, tentpole events, and other moments where communities are creating great content at scale.
Our goal is simple: when streamers and their communities create something worth sharing, we want to help that moment create more opportunities for discovery and growth.
We’ll have more to share as we continue building on this investment.
