The Inbetweeners 3 is officially happening, Netflix confirmed.
On September 7, the streaming platform announced that a third film is currently filming — and that Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison, and Joe Thomas will reprise their roles as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland, and Simon Cooper.
Additionally, Damon Beesley and Iain Morris have returned to write and direct. Claire Jones, Banijay’s Patrick Holland, and Fudge Park Production’s Mark Lesbirel will serve as executive producers.
The Inbetweeners began as a British coming-of-age TV show that aired for three seasons from 2008 to 2010 on Channel 4. In the sitcom, Will and his friends navigated school life, friendship, and failed sexual encounters. (An American spinoff of the same name was also released in 2012.) The Inbetweeners Movie premiered in 2011, followed by The Inbetweeners 2 in 2014.
“It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again,” said Beesley and Morris in a statement in the Netflix news release. “And we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans.”

In the comments of a Netflix X post confirming The Inbetweeners 3, folks shared mixed reactions to the news. One shared, “Oh dear. Should’ve left this in the past. Absolutely no way it’ll be as good.”
Another agreed, writing, “This is going to be one of those things that should’ve been left alone.”
Someone else echoed, “I hate being such a cynical 30-something, but I’m so nervous about this. Revisits/revivals rarely work. Especially with that kind of humour. Hopefully the boys had a good look at this project before accepting it, and it’s not just for the money.”
However, others were cautiously excited about the upcoming third movie, with one X user writing, “As long as it don’t hold back on the humour and original style, we good.”
