A poll of 2,000 adults found that more than a third of Brits now save their favourite shows to watch while travelling.

The research showed that many now regularly watch television shows (35%) or films (33%) on the move.

More people are also fitting entertainment around their schedule rather than the other way round, with 70% of people opting for this method of viewing.

The research was commissioned by Samsung to launch the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which unfold to help maximise the viewing experience on the go.

What shows are people opting to watch?

Some of this year’s biggest sporting TV moments have been enjoyed on the move, including key moments from last season’s Premier League action (25%) and the drama of England’s summer in North America (21%).

Popular reality TV moments have also been watched while travelling, with Love Island (18%) and The Traitors (14%) ranking among the most commonly viewed programmes.

The study found that people have a backlog of shows and films lined up for future trips (34%), while 33% said they save their favourite for train journeys, and 30% save content specifically for flights and holidays.

Almost half of Brits (47% agree that while their evening viewing habits remain important, they are increasingly consuming entertainment throughout the day as well.

Noticeably, 39% admit that they are often too tired in the evening to watch a programme or film from start to finish.

For 46%, travelling is one of the few uninterrupted opportunities to properly enjoy a programme, film, or book without the distractions of everyday life.

The findings also explored the features consumers increasingly value when using entertainment on the move, with more than three quarters (76%) citing portability as important, and 75%valuing durability in a device when using it on the move.

A large screen is also a priority for 73% of those polled, reflecting the growing demand for immersive viewing experiences away from home.

When and where do you watch your favourite shows and films? Let us know in the comments.
