Through this festival, we want to bring those worlds together and create a truly inclusive celebration where there is something for everyone, across age groups, backgrounds and interests. Along with professional productions, the festival will feature masterclasses, an inter-collegiate theatre competition and a special performance by specially abled children, making it a platform not only to showcase theatre but also to learn, participate and belong. At its heart, The Drama Utsav is about bringing artists, audiences and communities together, and encouraging more and more people to experience the magic and immediacy of live theatre.”

With The Drama Utsav Mumbai 2026, we want to change that by bringing Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, English and Bengali theatre onto one stage, literally, in what will be a celebration of India’s linguistic diversity as well as rich theatre history. For BookMyShow, this is exactly the kind of large-scale, marquee live entertainment property we want to keep building to widen access to theatre as an art form, and give audiences the chance to explore plays beyond their native languages or popular genres that they typically gravitate towards. This also helps create an annual milestone in Mumbai’s cultural calendar, and we look forward to making the city a melting pot for India’s new-age theatre productions.”
