    Fortnite Mobile Controllers

GameSir has partnered with Epic Games’ Fortnite on a licensed collection of mobile controllers, set to launch on October 20 with two models: the GameSir G8 Plus Fortnite Edition and the GameSir X5 Lite for XBOX Fortnite Edition.

The tie-up marks a notable expansion of Fortnite’s licensed hardware footprint, pairing a peripheral maker known for drift-resistant stick technology with one of gaming’s most recognisable character rosters.

    Two Models, Two Use Cases

The G8 Plus is positioned as the flagship option, built for players chasing console-level performance away from a console. It ships with Hall Effect sticks designed to resist stick drift over time, mappable rear buttons aimed at speeding up edits and building, and ergonomics intended to hold up across extended sessions. It carries an MSRP of $89.99.

The X5 Lite takes the opposite approach: lightweight, wired, and built for players who want a simple, responsive plug-and-play option rather than a premium centrepiece. It’s priced at $49.99. Both controllers lean into Fortnite’s character-driven aesthetic, with themed artwork and collectible-style packaging rather than a straightforward logo application.

The collaboration is being handled through IMG Licensing. GameSir’s VP of Partnerships said the goal was to build something that feels like a genuine Fortnite experience from the hardware up, rather than simply branding an existing product.

    Pricing, Packaging, and Bonus Items

    • Launch date: October 20
    • GameSir G8 Plus Fortnite Edition: Hall Effect sticks, mappable rear buttons, $89.99 MSRP
    • GameSir X5 Lite for XBOX Fortnite Edition: lightweight wired design, $49.99
    • Both models feature Fortnite character-inspired artwork and collectible-style packaging
    • Each controller includes a digital in-game item, with examples cited ranging from emotes such as Bully and Gun Show to gliders such as Cerberus and Storm Sigil

Why It Matters for Mobile Play

Fortnite’s audience skews heavily mobile and cross-platform, making a dedicated peripheral push a logical fit for a publisher that has long supported third-party hardware on phones and tablets. GameSir’s pitch centres on Hall Effect technology as a drift-resistance selling point, an increasingly common differentiator in the mobile controller space, and one that touches on the broader growth of mobile audiences across regions such as Southeast Asia’s mobile gaming market.

It’s a strategy other publishers and organisations have leaned on too – see how G2 Esports has approached mobile partnerships in PUBG Mobile, or how EA Esports has folded mobile into its cross-title strategy.

    What’s Next?

The GameSir G8 Plus Fortnite Edition and X5 Lite for XBOX Fortnite Edition are scheduled to launch October 20 through GameSir’s own site as well as retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, where the listings currently sit in a pre-order phase.
