Wis. (WSAW) – Fans filled a sold-out watch party at American Family Field as the Milwaukee Brewers played the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 3 of the World Series in Tampa Monday night
It has been 44 years since the Brewers had a shot at their first World Series ring in franchise history.
After an 8-run 6th inning, fans could no longer contain their excitement.
Richard Ziolecki said he was thrilled with how the team played.
“How are we feeling? You’ve got to be kidding me, you have to ask that?” Ziolecki said. “I haven’t taken enough blood pressure medication for this. This is awesome, oh my God. They’re just killing it. It’s the greatest thing ever, we’re going all the way.”
“Milwaukee Brewers. I’ve been waiting for this my whole life, my whole life,” Brewers fan Rob said. “I’ve been cheering for you my whole life and we’re finally here. Bye bye, bye bye. See you later.”
Fans chanted “Brewers in 4” throughout the day. One fan said that if allowed, he plans to bring a broom to American Family Field for a sweep.
For fans Dakota Scully and Kyle and Melissa Germait, it’s been an interesting couple of days. The group participated in the state jigsaw puzzle championship in Rothschild over the weekend. They were split on whether to attend Games 1 and 2 in Milwaukee and skip the state tournament. They decided to attend the tournament they had practiced for, then came to Milwaukee for Games 3 and 4.
“Draining but worth it, 100%,” Kyle Germait said. “You were kind of joking actually before you approached us that there was an angel and a devil on my shoulder on whether or not I wanted to do the puzzling or do the Brewers. I’m glad so far we’ve made the choice we made.”
Kyle Germait’s father is scheduled to attend Game 4.
“I don’t think I could picture anything better, you know, and even tomorrow we got my dad coming too, you know, shout out to my family,” Germait said. “Just to have that experience. It’s priceless just thinking about it.”
Kyle and Melissa Germait have attended Brewers games throughout the postseason. They said they have not seen an atmosphere like this one.
