David Spade wants to ask Drew Barrymore if they’ve ever made out: ‘I don’t know if we did’

Drew Barrymore, are you there? David Spade has a very important question that he needs to ask you. 

During a recent episode of his and Dana Carvey‘s <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnqAaSJfTDU” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>Fly on the Wall podcast, the actor and comedian revealed that he believes he may have “made out” with the Never Been Kissed actress once before but, honestly, he’s not sure.

“I don’t think I’ve done Drew’s show,” Spade said, referencing her titular Daytime Emmy-winning talk show. “I wanted to ask her if we made out once. That was my big… I thought we did. And I don’t know if we did. Did we?” 

Turning to his fellow SNL alum for help, Spade continued, “I didn’t ask her, did I? I think I asked her. I ran into her at Chateau [Marmont].”

Carvey then joked that Spade should consult his little book of people that he’s made out with for answers. To which a laughing Spade replied, “I swear I think so! It was no big deal.” 

Barrymore found herself a topic of conversation on the podcast when Spade revealed that she’d recently stopped by the set of the upcoming Grown Ups 3in order to wish mutual friend, Adam Sandler, a happy birthday.

“She wants to say happy birthday to him. I go, ‘You want to just go in for my entrance?'” Spade recalled, explaining that they eventually sent Barrymore out to crash the scene in his stead, to surprise Sandler and the rest of the cast. 

“She walked in. It was a scene where we’re all hanging out at a wedding. And she goes, ‘Does anyone need a wedding singer?'” Spade continued, which, of course, was a callback to Barrymore and Sandler’s 1998 film.

Carvey also had nothing but kind words to say about Barrymore, describing her as a “very real” and “humble” individual. Spade added, “She’s very sweet.” 

While she hasn’t dished on Spade, over the years, Barrymore has spoken on her show about having made out with several celebrities. That includes the time she and guest Chloë Sevignyreflected on sharing a kiss in a hotel bathroom.

“It was the ’90s. It was a kiss,” Barrymore recalled in 2024 of the moment with the Big Love alum. “We were very free and just having the best time and it was just the sexiest, cutest, most [meow].”

Last April, Barrymore and guest Amanda Peet also opened up about the time they made out at one of Carrie Fisher‘s house parties. Barrymore has also exchanged kisses with multiple guests who stop by her talk show, including Tori Spelling andMatt Bomer.
