A new chapter of “Survivor” begins with Season 51, marking the series’ first “Open Era” in which “every twist, every idol, every advantage in the series’ history may come into play in any order and without warning.”
Twenty-one new castaways, stranded on the beaches of Fiji, will compete for a $1 million grand prize in the award-winning series, which “continues to prove both the ultimate test of physical and mental will as well as the adventure of a lifetime,” according to a news release.
Castaways are “tasked with forming a new society, adapting to their surroundings and navigating an unpredictable social game to ensure their torch stays lit,” the news release adds.
Emmy winner Jeff Probst is set to return as host for Season 51.

When does ‘Survivor’ Season 51 premiere? Date, time
“Survivor” Season 51 is scheduled to premiere with a special two-hour episode on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and will stream live on Paramount+ for Premium plan subscribers. For Paramount+ Essential subscribers, the episode will be available to stream the next day.

‘Survivor’ Season 51 cast
Twenty-one castaways will “embark on the adventure of a lifetime” on Season 51 of “Survivor,” where they will test their endurance, strategy and willpower in pursuit of the title of Sole Survivor and the $1 million grand prize.
The new cast features people from all walks of life, including a sociology professor, a farmer and a lingerie business owner. The cast also features talent from Hollywood and the sports world, including former “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Devin Way, Strawberry Shortcake voice actress Ana Sani, former WWE star Brady Booker and Yankees executive Mike Pinsky.
