Crunchyroll officially launched on the Switch back in February 2022, and millions of anime fans have been using the app ever since. Unfortunately, they don’t have much time left to enjoy their anime streaming, as the Switch app’s service is about to come to an end.
Crunchyroll is sending out emails to members to let them know that Switch app is soon to be sunset. According to the email, Crunchyroll service on Switch will cease on October 30th, 2026, and no reason was given for the service’s end. Of course, you can still watch Crunchroll through various other apps and platforms going forward.
It’s a bummer to see Crunchyroll moving off of Switch, but we’re hopeful that their team is cooking up a Switch 2 release for the near future. We’ll try to get comment from Crunchyroll reps on the Switch closure as well as the possibility for Switch 2 support, and we’ll share those comments with you if/when they come in.
