This one is a heavy-hitting week in indie comics and pop culture. You won’t want to miss this Crowdfunding Round-Up!

    Whitewall: The Graphic Novel

Creators: Devin Kraft (Creator/Writer/Artist), based on a story by Tyler Tomaseski, edited by Summer Tomaseski
    Goal:$6,000
    End Date:September 30, 2026
Goodies: Get the digital graphic novel for $15, the physical softcover for $25, the hardcover for $40, or the $100 collector’s tier with a hand-drawn remark, multiple physical comics, and additional digital collections.

Wartime cognist triage medics stem a mental health pandemic at great personal cost.

Psychological horror has captured a lot of my attention lately, especially when creators find ways to make something as intangible as trauma feel genuinely terrifying. Whitewall: The Graphic Novel immediately caught my attention for exactly that reason. Created by Devin Kraft, the 144-page graphic novel follows Scout, a young doctor who dives into the minds of soldiers to treat the psychological wounds left behind by an endless war. When her mentor Isao is infected by a vicious psychic entity, Scout has no choice but to enter his mind herself.

If that premise isn’t enough, take a look at the preview pages. The contrast between bleak battlefields and surreal mindscapes is incredible, turning trauma into haunting memories and monstrous entities. From what I’ve seen so far, Whitewall looks like the kind of graphic novel that understands exactly how to make psychological horror work. If surreal science fiction and stories about the human cost of war sound like your kind of comic, this is absolutely worth looking into.

    Cat and the Coven

    Creators:Ewan Power(Creator)
    Goal: $337
    End Date:October 1, 2026
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $6, the physical copy for $14, the blank-cover physical copy with sketch for $27, or, at higher tiers, the bundle for $30 and much more!

The next installment of the ‘Cat &’ comics title with a 40 page zine!

There are few things more dangerous than a young witch trying to prove herself, but giving her a cat as a familiar probably isn’t helping. Cat and the Covenis a 40-page comic and the fourth installment in the Cat and series and follows a young witch apprentice as she begins the tests required to become a full-fledged witch. Unfortunately for her, her first test involves choosing a familiar, and that means bringing the Cat into the mix. If Bone, Calvin & Hobbes, and Sam & Max sound like your kind of comics, this is absolutely worth looking into.

    PARAGON #39

    Creators: Dave Candlish (Creator)
    Goal:$269
    End Date:September 18, 2026
Goodies: get the printed copy for $7, and the A5 sketch by Davey Candlish for $27!

A Great British comic anthology just like you used to read in the 70’s and 80’s – now in its’ 20th year!

PARAGON #39 is a celebration of classic British anthology comics, continuing a tradition that has lasted for 20 years. This issue brings together several ongoing stories, giving readers plenty of variety across its pages. Jikan, the time-travelling, demon-hunting samurai, returns to continue his hunt for the demon queen Shimasu. Spencer Nero, meanwhile, finds himself falling into Tartarus and searching for a way out. Bludd and Xandi also return as their story unfolds between Heaven and Hell.

What makes PARAGON #39 especially appealing is its old-school anthology spirit. Each story offers something different, from supernatural adventures to cosmic conflicts, while the variety of creators gives the comic a distinct visual identity. For readers who enjoy discovering independent comics or miss the unpredictable nature of classic anthology books, this is a chance to support a series that has been keeping that tradition alive for two decades.

    DARK SYSTEM :: VOLUME ONE

Creators: Matt Peek (Writer), Mito Cubic (Artist)
    Goal:$2,150
    End Date: September 30, 2026
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $4, the physical for $15, the variant cover for $15, or at higher tiers get the print bundle for $72, and much more!

A dystopian sci-fi odyssey from the edge of reality itself.

If you are looking for a new science-fiction universe to dive into, DARK SYSTEM :: VOLUME ONE certainly makes a strong first impression. The 88-page graphic novel follows disgraced detective Arcadia Quintana as she investigates a mysterious crime on the edge of an interdimensional frontier. What begins as a murder investigation quickly expands into a much larger mystery involving humanity’s first contact with the Dark System and the secrets surrounding an uneasy peace. Written by Matt Peek and illustrated by Mito Cubic, the book draws from European sci-fi albums while mixing cosmic horror, military science fiction, and interstellar politics. There is plenty here to catch the attention of sci-fi fans looking for something ambitious and creator-owned.

Bump in the Night: A Cryptid Comic Anthology

Creators: Limit Break Comics (Publisher), Paul Carroll (Editor)
    Goal: $15,000
    End Date:September 27, 2026
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $12, the softcover for $25, the sofcover sticker bundle for $28, or at higher tiers, get the print bundle for $30.

Bump in the Night is the brand new comic anthology from Limit Break Comics, the publishers behind Turning Roads, Down Below, Fractured Realms and Wish Upon a Star. This second instalment in the modern mythology trilogy takes a nature vs society approach to cryptids!

Bump in the Night is worth checking out for anyone fascinated by the strange creatures hiding in the shadows of folklore. The anthology brings together 22 short comics centered on cryptids, from familiar legends like Bigfoot, Mothman, the Jersey Devil, and the Loch Ness Monster to lesser-known creatures from around the world. Across 88 pages, these stories explore the relationship between nature and society, giving each creator room to interpret these mysterious figures in their own way.

What makes the project especially appealing is its international creative lineup. With writers and artists from different backgrounds contributing their own takes on cryptid mythology, Bump in the Night promises a collection that can shift between horror, fantasy, mystery, and even humor. It is also the second installment in Limit Break Comics’ modern mythology trilogy, making it an intriguing continuation for readers who enjoyed the publisher’s previous anthologies.

For cryptid fans, anthology readers, and anyone who loves a good mystery, Bump in the Night offers plenty to discover.
