Capcom to offer new gaming fragrances to Street Fighter 6 players: Here’s what each scent claims to do

Street Fighter 6 is getting a new line of officially licensed gaming fragrances. The game’s developer Capcom has partnered with Japanese fragrance company CODE Meee to offer players a collection of fragrance oil sets inspired by the game’s characters Ingrid, Juri and Ed. According to the company, each scent is designed around gameplay themes associated with the respective fighter.Describing the fragrances, CODE Meee says Ingrid’s fragrance is “a scent crafted to enhance clarity in stock accumulation and release timing,” while Juri’s is “a scent crafted to make your hit-confirms feel razor-sharp” and Ed’s is “a scent crafted to let you throw out counter pokes without getting whiff-punished.” Each set includes a fragrance oil bottle, a wooden diffuser and a character-themed tin.The fragrance collection is scheduled to begin shipping in mid-October, with each set priced at 6,850 yen (around $42) and designed to provide approximately 30 uses per bottle.

The collection includes three character-themed fragrances, each paired with a different scent profile and gameplay-inspired description.

CODE Meee describes Ingrid’s fragrance as “a scent crafted to enhance clarity in stock accumulation and release timing.”The fragrance features”a light opening of grapefruit and leafy green,” which the company says “evokes an unhurried, continuous flow.”
Juri’s fragrance is described as “a scent crafted to make your hit-confirms feel razor-sharp.”
Ed’s fragrance is described as “a scent crafted to let you throw out counter pokes without getting whiff-punished.”The company adds, “The elegant freshness of bergamot and the warmth of vetiver combine to create a relaxing space.”
What Street Fighter 6’s director said about the new gaming fragrances
In a statement to VGC, Street Fighter 6 game director Takayuki Nakayama also commented on the collaboration, saying, “This is an item that dramatically deepens your sense of unity with the characters you love. The fragrances deliver both the focus essential for long gaming sessions and a refreshing sensation that gently soothes a mind heated by intense matches. Perfect for switching between on and off, it will make your time in battle feel even more special. The beautiful package art, which expresses each character’s charm to the fullest, is also a must-see. Thank you for creating such a wonderful product.”Despite the gameplay-themed descriptions, the product includes a disclaimer stating, “We do not guarantee the effects or benefits of the fragrance.”CODE Meee describes itself as “a comprehensive fragrance company that provides the optimal scent based on data to individuals and businesses.”The company has previously collaborated with singer-songwriter Kayoko Yoshizawa and VTuber agency Hololive.
