Hasbro Will Bring Licensed Legend of Zelda Toy in 2027

Hasbro and Nintendo Sign Multi-Year Legend of Zelda Toy Deal

The partnership begins in 2027 with action figures debuting at San Diego Comic-Con before a broader merchandise rollout.

    Highlights

    • Hasbro and Nintendo have signed a multi-year licensing agreement for The Legend of Zelda toy line.
    • The partnership expands Hasbro’s growing portfolio of major <a href="https://comicvibe.com/skycity-entertainment-asx-skc-why-did-the-casino-operator-stand-out-among-market-gainers/” title=”SkyCity Entertainment (ASX: SKC): Why Did the Casino Operator Stand Out Among Market Gainers?”>entertainment brands, including Marvel, Harry Potter, and Street Fighter.
    • The toy rollout aligns with Nintendo and Sony Pictures’ planned Legend of Zeldalive-action film release.

Hasbro and Nintendo have signed a multi-year licensing agreement to bring The Legend of Zelda to toy shelves, the companies announced on July 16. The toy and games company will begin producing action figures and other merchandise based on the Zelda franchise starting in 2027.

The companies did not unveil any concept imagery or details for the products; however, Hasbro said an early preview will be hosted at San Diego Comic-Con, running July 23-26. They will preview three 6-inch-tall action figures from The Legend of Zelda toyline.

Billy Lagor, President of Toys and Board Games at Hasbro, said the company aims to combine Nintendo’s “iconic storytelling” with Hasbro’s expertise in action figures and role-play products to create new play experiences for fans. “We’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore, and forge their own epic adventures,” he further added.

Legend of Zelda Toy Line: Hasbro Building Bets Around Franchise Releases

The Legend of Zeldatoy agreement follows Hasbro’s strategy of anchoring new toy lines to franchise and blockbuster releases. The company already holds master toy licenses for Star Warsand Marvelfranchises, and in 2022, it acquired Indiana Jones, following a partnership with Lucasfilm.

In recent months, Hasbro has announced merchandise agreements tied to Street Fighter and Harry Potter, further expanding its portfolio. Both properties have their live-action adaptations in development, with the live-action Street Fighter movie releasing in October 2026.

The latest Hasbro x Nintendo deal, tied to The Legend of Zeldafranchise, follows a previous collaboration. In 2017, Nintendo and Hasbro released Monopoly Gamer, aSuper Mario-themed version of the classic board game featuring characters including Mario, Yoshi, Peach, and Donkey Kong.

The timing is notable as Nintendo continues the development of The Legend of Zeldalive-action film with Sony Pictures. The film is also scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027, which coincides with Hasbro’s Zelda toyline debut timing. However, specific release windows for either project have not been announced.

The logic lies in clear financial growth. The company reported a 13% year-over-year revenue increase in the first quarter of 2026, driven largely by the growth in its Wizards and Digital Gaming segment and maintaining stable consumer products sales. The company also recorded a growth in Star Wars toys and games, due to The Mandalorian and Grogufilm released on May 22, 2026 (US).
