Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness established the catastrophic dangers of incursions—a process in which two or more universes collide, and at least one is destroyed in the aftermath. Furthermore, Spider-Man: No Way Home briefly showcased the Marvel Cinematic Universe clashing with other realities before Doctor Strange stepped in and cast a spell that made the whole world forget Peter Parker ever existed. Last but certainly not least, the Loki Disney+ show has explained how branched realities could be the multiverse’s undoing.

So far, audiences have had quick glimpses of incursions, but Avengers: Doomsday will finally put them at the forefront of the Multiverse Saga. The post-credits scene of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teased that the MCU is on a collision course with another, unnamed reality. Additionally, the ending of The Marvels saw Monica Rambeau trapped in the X-Men universe, hinting at yet another possible incursion. Besides, Spidey’s latest multiversal adventure brought Tom Holland’s world closer to that of Tobey Maguire’s.

Four different universes have been revealed to be at risk of colliding with each other so far. However, it seems Avengers: Doomsday will present us with a scenario even more dire than originally expected

Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly feature six different universes

According to reliable insider Alex Perez , Avengers: Doomsday will take audiences on a journey across six different universes: The X-Men universe, the MCU, the Fantastic Four’s world, Doctor Doom’s original reality, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man universe, and a “pocket dimension.”

We’ve seen the majority of these worlds across many different films, but two remain unexplored. For starters, it would be a curveball to learn that Doctor Doom isn’t originally from Earth-828, which is where the Fantastic Four live. That begs the question: why did he have to leave his original universe? Was his homeworld destroyed by a different incursion, explaining why he will be so hell-bent on stopping these cataclysmic events any way possible?

The pocket dimension is another big mystery. Alex Perez describes it as “the universe that’s hidden away,” which means someone went to extreme lengths to isolate it from the rest of the multiverse as a whole, perhaps trying to prevent it from suffering an incursion. With that in mind, there’s a possibility that Doctor Doom is also the mastermind behind this unknown place. Another possibility is that the pocket dimension will turn out to be somewhere like The Void at the end of time—the same place where all the pruned things go.

An important thing to remember is that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that we’ll see more of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in the MCU, with reports suggesting that she will have a big role in Avengers: Secret Wars. However, she has been notoriously absent from the MCU ever since the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so where has she been throughout all this time?

Maybe there’s a small chance that she finally found what she wanted: a reality where she can take care of her kids and live a normal life. The iconic hero could’ve used her reality-bending powers to hide this place away from the rest of the multiverse, ensuring a peaceful life for her and her family. The mysterious pocket dimension could be Wanda’s true home now, but it could all go awry once Doctor Doom comes into the fold

Six different universes could be in danger of colliding with one another in Avengers: Doomsday, making Battleworld the only possible solution to such a predicament. But will Doom really create an amalgamation of all these different Earths, where he will reign supreme? Well, there’s only one way to find out

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18, 2026
